OUR TEA GRADES
Mukwano Tea brings you the true taste of home — a rich blend of CTC and Orthodox teas, full of strength, aroma, and tradition, lovingly grown in the heart of Uganda.
CTC Tea Grades
Crush, Tear, Curl — known for strong color, briskness, and body.
| GRADE | DESCRIPTIONS |
|---|---|
| BP (Broken Pekoe) | Medium leaf grade with good strength and bright liquor; ideal for everyday blends. |
| BP1 (Broken Pekoe 1) | Slightly larger particles than BP; produces a lighter cup with smooth flavor. |
| PF (Pekoe Fanning) | Finer particles that brew quickly; offers a strong, brisk cup, common in tea bags. |
| PF1 (Pekoe Fanning 1) | High-quality fine particles giving a bright, rich liquor and consistent aroma. |
| PD (Pekoe Dust) | Very fine granules that infuse fast and deliver a strong, dark brew — excellent for tea bags and quick service. |
| DUST | The smallest grade; brews instantly with intense color and robust flavor, favored in strong tea blends. |
| FNGS (Fine Neat Grainy Sorts) | Uniform, granular particles; well-balanced flavor, often used for premium blends. |
| BMF (Broken Mixed Fanning) | A blend of smaller broken and fanning particles; provides balanced strength and flavor. |
