Rwenzori Commodities Ltd Tea Factory conforms to international standards ISO 22000:2005, ISO 22000:2005 TS, ISO 9000:2005, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 9004:2000, US 292, US 28 EAS 39 and US 7 and Rainforest Alliance in its Planning, Implementation programmes, Operations and updating of the Food Safety Management System. This is done in order to satisfy our customers nationally and internationally.
This document specifies requirements for a good food safety management system at the factory and raw material management and it demonstrates our ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that the black tea produced is safe for human consumption.
It is applicable to all Black C.T.C Tea production processes from crop husbandry to transportation of the raw material to the factory and including all production processes up to despatch of the product. It includes effective process controls, PRPs and HACCP principles across our tea processing activities.
In general the scope covers the following processes: -Crop husbandry, Plucking , Transportation to the factory ,Green Leaf reception -Withering, Rolling , Fermentation, Drying, Sorting, Storage, packing and Despatch
